At Clifford Studios, we want every class to start on time, feel calm and welcoming, and provide the safest and best possible experience for everyone.
To help us achieve this, we ask all clients to follow our Studio Arrival & Door Policy.
Arriving at the studio
Please aim to arrive 5–10 minutes before your scheduled class start time. This gives you plenty of time to check in, put away your belongings and settle into the studio before class begins.
We kindly ask that you avoid arriving significantly earlier than this where possible.
Whether or not there is a class before yours, our teachers use the time immediately beforehand to prepare. This may include:
- Setting up equipment and ensuring the studio is clean, safe and ready.
- Cleaning and tidying the studio.
- Reviewing the class plan and client notes.
- Completing essential studio tasks.
- Taking a few quiet moments to focus before teaching.
If another class is in progress, please wait quietly outside until the previous class has finished and clients have left the studio.
This preparation time allows our instructors to give every class their full attention and energy from the moment it begins.
Late arrivals
The studio door is locked promptly at the advertised class start time. Unfortunately, late arrivals cannot be admitted once class has begun.
This policy is in place for several reasons:
Safety
The opening minutes of every class include important warm-up exercises and, where appropriate, safety guidance. Missing these can increase the risk of injury.
Respecting everyone's class
Our classes are intentionally small so every client receives individual attention. A late arrival interrupts the flow of the session, distracts both the teacher and other clients, and may require instructions to be repeated.
Maintaining a calm environment
Many of our classes begin with quiet movement, breathing or mindfulness. Keeping the door closed once class has started helps preserve the atmosphere from the very first minute.
Equipment classes
For equipment-based classes, arriving late often means setting up equipment while the class is already underway, creating unnecessary noise and disruption.
Keeping belongings secure
Once class has started, the studio door is locked to help keep everyone's personal belongings secure while they are exercising.
Reception
Our reception is not staffed throughout the day, so there isn't always someone available to answer the door once class has started.
Why can't exceptions be made?
We understand that delays happen and appreciate how frustrating it can be to miss a class.
However, if we admitted someone arriving one minute late, it would be difficult to fairly refuse someone arriving three, five or even ten minutes late. Applying the same policy consistently ensures fairness for everyone and allows our teachers to deliver the best possible experience for the clients who arrived on time.
For this reason, the studio door is locked promptly at the advertised class start time and late arrivals cannot be admitted.
Thank you for respecting our teachers, your fellow clients and the studio. Your cooperation helps us maintain the calm, welcoming and high-quality experience that Clifford Studios is known for.
